Minutes of the Wortham & Burgate Parish Council Playing Field Committee meeting held in
Wortham Pavilion on Monday 11th May 2026 at 6pm

- To appoint a Chair of the Playing Field Committee - Cllr Piper proposed Cllr Castle be appointed Chair of the Playing Field Committee, seconded Cllr Wright approved unanimously, with one abstention (Cllr Castle)
- Chair’s welcome and to consider accepting apologies for absence - Cllr Castle welcomed the representative from Wortham Lawn Tennis Club and apologies from Cllr Bradley were unanimously approved.
- To record declarations of interest from members in any item to be discussed - None
- To consider any dispensations from members in any item to be discussed - None
- To receive the Clerk’s report and any outstanding items/actions - Nothing to report as all items covered on the agenda.
- To discuss the Annual Play Inspection Report - the Annual Play Inspection Report was circulated to councillors prior to the meeting. The main item for repair is the zip line. The lack of rubber chippings also needs to be addressed and the metal table and benches need to be repainted. Clerk to contact HAGS for a price for the repairs to the zip line and rubber chippings and enquire the paint colour for the table and benches so this can be sourced.
- To consider and agree on the Sports Rents for 2026/27
- WLTC - Cllr Wright brought to the attention of the Tennis Club that on occasions when the pavilion has been used for social events by the tennis club, the pavilion has not been left clean and tidy. WLTC will pass this on to its members. The annual costing for the Pavilion was discussed and with this in mind, the tennis club will discuss this at their next meeting. The review will be based on a sensible rent for usage taking into account all costings. WLTC will report back to the Clerk and the revised rent will be discussed at the next Playing Field Committee meeting.
- Wortham Bowls Club - deferred to next meeting.
- Football Club - The draft agreement that had been drawn up previously had not been formally approved. Cllr Castle will liaise with the Football Club. Cllr Castle to contact Palgrave Football Club.

- To receive items for the next agenda - Sports Clubs rent reviews
